As part of our website project, we had the opportunity to work with German students from the KSH high school in Heidenheim. This enriching experience enabled us not only to develop our technical skills, but also to improve our English and understand the cultural and methodological differences between our two countries.
Website project
We worked with German students from the KSH secondary school in Heidenheim on a cooking website, https://erasmus-hdh.de/projekt2024. We finalised the German recipes, the legal notices and the home page. We also reorganised the site’s menu to optimise it and make it easier to use. We also worked on various articles for the lycée. The Cookbook website is available in German, English and French.

Work on CVs and covering letters
We worked on CVs and covering letters in English, learning how to adapt them to different expectations. Cover letters need to be more linked to the company’s culture and be as specific as possible about skills. We also worked on interviews in English with a class of German students.

German courses
We also took German lessons where we learned the basics of the language: the alphabet, counting to 20, the rules of politeness and a bit of geography. The course was great fun.
This project has given us invaluable experience of international collaboration and web development. Despite the language and cultural challenges, we managed to create a trilingual cooking website, improve our understanding of each other and develop new skills. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and grateful for the learning and opportunities this collaboration has given us.
