The dough should bubble when you beat it vigorously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook the Sp\u00e4tzle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the dough in portions through a Sp\u00e4tzle press or with a Sp\u00e4tzle board into the boiling water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the Sp\u00e4tzle float to the surface, remove them with a slotted spoon and rinse them in cold water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Prepare the fried onions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Slice the onions into thin rings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat butter or clarified butter in a pan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dust the onion rings with a little flour and fry them until golden brown.
